In short: the SpaceKit app runs entirely on your Mac. The only thing it asks us is whether a newer version exists, and you can turn that off. This website uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. When you buy, Stripe handles the payment and we get what we need for the order and our bookkeeping: your email, country and what you paid.
Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is:
The SpaceKit app
SpaceKit scans and cleans your disk locally. It has no accounts, no analytics and no telemetry, and it doesn’t send information about you, your Mac or your files to us or anyone else. Its settings, history and cleanup journal stay in files on your Mac.
Update checks. About once a day, SpaceKit asks this website whether a newer version exists, using the open-source Sparkle updater. The request contains SpaceKit’s version and, if you linked your purchase, your license key, which we check with Stripe so we can offer you the download. Like any web request, it also reaches our server with your IP address, which we treat like the other server logs below. SpaceKit sends no other information about your Mac. You can turn update checks off in SpaceKit → Settings → Updates.
License key. If you link your purchase to the app, SpaceKit stores your license key on your Mac.
Visiting this website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts. Like any web server, ours briefly logs technical request data (IP address, time, page requested, browser type) to keep the site running and secure. These logs are kept for at most 30 days.
Buying SpaceKit
Payments are handled by Stripe. When you buy, you give your payment details, email address, name and billing country (and, where tax rules need it, your address) to Stripe on its checkout page. We never see your full card number. Stripe shares with us your email address, name, country, the amount, tax and the status of the payment. We use this to deliver your download, send your receipt, handle refunds and support requests, and meet our accounting and tax obligations.
Stripe processes your data under its own privacy policy, including for fraud prevention.
Legal bases
- Performing our contract with you: processing your order, delivering SpaceKit and its updates, refunds and support.
- Legal obligations: keeping accounting and tax records.
- Legitimate interests: keeping this website secure and preventing fraud.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as Finnish accounting law requires (generally up to 10 years from the end of the financial year), then deleted. Support emails are deleted once they’re no longer needed, at the latest two years after the conversation ends. Server logs are kept for at most 30 days.
Who else processes it
- Stripe, for payments, receipts and tax calculation.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the server this website is on.
- Our email provider, if you email us.
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU/EEA, for example in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format, within the limits of the law (we can’t delete records we must keep for accounting). Email appriseven@gmail.com to use these rights.
You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Finland, that’s the Data Protection Ombudsman.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and its date.
